Casa Tua Partners With Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment
Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment has teamed up with Casa Tua to launch "Cucina by Casa Tua" inside One Hanson Place, with a target debut in 2027, according to Time Out. The outlet reports that the project is part of a larger effort to convert the landmarked property into a hospitality and cultural destination that lives beyond event nights at Barclays Center. BSE has pitched the partnership as a move to deliver "elevated, innovative, and unforgettable experiences inspired by Brooklyn," Time Out notes.
The Building And The Buy
BSE bought the retail condominium at 1 Hanson Place in late 2024 and now controls roughly 40,000 square feet of retail space that includes the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank hall, according to public-record reporting by PincusCo. Coverage from BK Reader notes that the grand banking hall has already played host to film shoots, fashion shows, and galas, and is now slated to be reworked into restaurants, lounges, private dining rooms, and event space for Cucina. Casa Tua co-founder Miky Grendene has called One Hanson "a remarkable, historic setting" and has signaled that the brand plans to approach the project with respect for the landmarked interior.
What Cucina Will Offer
Cucina is framed as a more casual, neighborhood-driven spin on Casa Tua that leans into everyday, communal dining rather than special-occasion blowouts. Expect theatrical open kitchens, lively aperitivo bars, and a curated market stocked with Italian goods, according to Time Out. Casa Tua, founded in Miami Beach in 2001 by Miky and Leticia Grendene, already runs restaurants in Miami, Aspen, and Paris, the outlet notes, suggesting that the Brooklyn outpost will likely center on shareable pastas, pizzas, and market-driven items that can flex for groups and events.

The One Hanson plan lines up with BSE’s multi-year renovation of Barclays Center, which has included a revamped atrium, new lounges, and upgraded fan amenities, part of a strategy to build out year-round hospitality and cultural offerings downtown, according to a Barclays Center press release. A large, flexible Italian venue that combines market stalls with private-event rooms is positioned to catch pre-game and post-show diners as well as neighborhood regulars, potentially pulling more after-hours foot traffic deeper into Fort Greene.
