Three men were shot early Wednesday at an apartment complex on Ashland Boulevard in Channelview, and the gunman is still on the loose. Harris County deputies found the victims, all in their 20s and 30s, at a building in the West Acres neighborhood. Channelview Fire Department paramedics rushed them to nearby hospitals, and officials said the injuries were non-life-threatening. Detectives remained at the scene piecing together what happened, while authorities said no suspect had been publicly identified.
What investigators said
According to FOX 26 Houston, Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 3 Lieutenant Terranova said deputies were called to the Ashland Boulevard complex after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found three males suffering from gunshot wounds, and Channelview Fire Department paramedics transported them to area hospitals.
Scene and response
The Channelview Fire Department, which staffs multiple paramedic-equipped ambulances, responded to stabilize the victims before transport, per the Channelview Fire Department. The agency notes it handles thousands of emergency medical calls each year, which helps explain how quickly crews were able to get to the scene and start treatment.
Neighbors on edge as incidents pile up
The shooting is the latest in a run of unsettling calls that have rattled Channelview residents. Hoodline previously detailed a block locked down after pistol standoff on May 11, when deputies swarmed a neighborhood after a man allegedly barricaded himself inside a home with a handgun. In a separate case earlier this month, another Hoodline report described an RV-park clash that ended with a neighbor hit by a truck.
Investigation ongoing
Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives are leading the investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact the agency. Crime Stoppers of Houston accepts anonymous tips at 713-222-TIPS (8477) and via the Crime Stoppers of Houston website.
