Chesterfield’s Clarkson Road just landed a fresh Mediterranean option, as Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh quietly flipped its “open” sign on Friday and started serving build-your-own pitas, bowls and laffa wraps. The fast-casual chain is now on its second stop in the St. Louis market, adding a suburban outpost to its existing Clayton shop.
Where to Find It
The new Garbanzo sits at 1671 Clarkson Rd, right in the middle of the busy retail stretch, and is listed as “NOW OPEN!” on the brand’s local store page. The Chesterfield location offers dine-in, takeout and delivery, and the company’s location page links customers to online ordering and its rewards program. According to Garbanzo's site, the store also provides curbside pickup and partners with third-party delivery services including DoorDash and Uber Eats.
Second St. Louis-Area Store
With the Chesterfield opening, Garbanzo now has two restaurants serving the St. Louis area, joining its Clayton location on Maryland Avenue. As first reported by the St. Louis Business Journal, the company continues to build out its footprint in the metro, using suburban hubs like Chesterfield to anchor its local presence.
What to Expect
Garbanzo pitches itself as a fast-casual Mediterranean concept built around customizable, nutrient-focused meals, a positioning the brand has leaned into even more since joining the WOWorks family in late 2020. That acquisition and the company’s growth plans were laid out in a corporate release at the time, according to PR Newswire.
The menu centers on pitas, rice bowls and salads, with vegetarian and gluten-free options in the mix and plenty of room to customize toppings and sauces to taste. For a full rundown of offerings, Garbanzo directs customers to its official menu listings.
Expansion Outlook
Industry outlet Nation's Restaurant News has reported that the WOWorks portfolio is designed to drive growth for concepts like Garbanzo through franchising and co-branded partnerships. That corporate backing could help the Mediterranean chain plant more flags around the Midwest in the coming years.
For now, West County diners can head to the new Chesterfield storefront for a sit-down meal, a quick pickup or delivery through popular apps. Keep an eye out for any grand-opening specials or ribbon-cutting fanfare from the company or local business groups as the shop settles into the neighborhood.
