Cook County Crime Stoppers is putting up as much as $10,000 in cash for a tip that leads to the arrest of Edgar Silva, the man police say opened fire on another car during a DuSable Lake Shore Drive road-rage incident that turned deadly. The July 30, 2023 shooting left 37-year-old Chicagoan Nancy Padilla dead and grazed a 26-year-old man, according to authorities. Detectives say Silva, who also goes by the nicknames "Fat Boy" and "Lil Debo," should be considered armed and dangerous, and they are appealing to the public to help track him down.

Detectives Name Their Suspect
Area detectives have identified Edgar Silva as the alleged shooter and say he should be treated as armed and dangerous, according to WGN-TV. Investigators say Silva may also be known as "Fat Boy" or "Lil Debo" and are urging anyone who knows where he is, or anything about his movements, to come forward.
The 2023 DuSable Drive Road-Rage Killing
Police say the violence erupted just before 8:10 p.m. on July 30, 2023, in the 2299 block of south DuSable Lake Shore Drive, when a 2015 Nissan sedan cut off the victims' car and someone inside the Nissan opened fire, as reported by CBS Chicago. Padilla was shot in the neck and later died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. A 26-year-old passenger suffered a graze wound and declined medical treatment, according to CBS.
How To Share A Tip
Cook County Crime Stoppers stresses that tipsters remain anonymous and are not required to testify in court if their information leads to an arrest. Anyone with information, photos, or video is asked to call 1-800-535-STOP or leave an anonymous tip at CPDtip.com.
Detectives Still Working The Case
Area Three detectives continue to investigate. News coverage has linked the new reward to investigators' efforts to identify and locate the 2015 Nissan and the people inside it, WGN-TV reports. Officials are still asking anyone who was in the area on the evening of July 30 and has cellphone or dash-cam footage that might show the Nissan or its occupants to send it in.
