Daily Provisions, the all-day café from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, is officially heading to Boston’s Back Bay. The brand is lining up a storefront at 501 Boylston St and is aiming for a fall 2026 opening, setting up shop in the thick of Copley Square’s retail and office corridor. When it lands, this will be the third Greater Boston location, following a Harvard Square café and a planned Seaport outpost.
According to What Now Boston, a Daily Provisions representative said the Boylston Street spot is "on track to debut in the fall of 2026." Boston Restaurant Talk previously spotted early clues about the project tied to a Bluesky post and an Indeed job listing connected to the space.
About Daily Provisions
Daily Provisions was born out of the kitchen of New York’s Union Square Cafe and has grown into a small collection of all-day neighborhood cafés under the Union Square Hospitality Group umbrella. The concept is best known for its crullers, runny-yolk breakfast sandwiches and a flexible menu that evolves throughout the day, shifting from morning grab-and-go to chef-driven salads, sandwiches and roast-chicken dinners, according to the company’s public materials.
Why Back Bay
The new Daily Provisions will slot into a Boylston Street storefront on the eastern edge of Copley Square, in a busy strip that funnels office workers, tourists and shoppers through the neighborhood. Boston Restaurant Talk reports the space most recently housed a Pret A Manger.
The Back Bay has already been in the middle of a dining shakeup, with a run of new openings and redevelopment projects reshaping the local restaurant mix, according to The Boston Globe. Daily Provisions planting a flag at 501 Boylston fits neatly into that pattern.
What To Expect
Regulars of the brand will likely recognize the playbook. The Back Bay café is expected to bring the usual lineup of light, airy crullers, eggy breakfast sandwiches, made-to-order lunches and roast chicken for take-home dinners, along with coffee and a tight beer-and-wine list.
The Daily Provisions site highlights similar hours and menu structure for its existing Boston locations, suggesting the Back Bay shop will follow the same all-day rhythm.
The company has said more details are on the way in the coming months. We will update this story once Daily Provisions sets a firm opening date and shares specifics on what will hit the Back Bay menu.
