West Maui just scored a new spot for serious noodle slurping. Dang Dang Noodles has quietly opened at Nāpili Plaza, slipping into the neighborhood shopping center with house-made noodles and Asian-fusion bowls in a fast-casual setup. It is the latest concept from the team behind Joey’s Kitchen, serving ramen, udon, chow fun and Thai rice noodle dishes in a relaxed, order-at-the-counter setting. For now, the storefront is keeping things focused on dinner service midweek through the weekend.
According to Maui Now, Alexander & Baldwin announced the opening and shared a few words from the team. Co-owner Joey Macadangdang said he is "excited to bring a fresh variety of flavorful noodle dishes" to the community, while Michael Oh, A&B’s senior property manager, called the restaurant a distinctive addition, saying it "adds a distinctive new dining option to the center." Maui Now also notes that Dang Dang is the third restaurant concept from the Joey’s Kitchen crew.
House-made noodles and hours
The menu leans into house-made noodles and Asian-fusion flavors, reflecting the owners’ culinary training and local roots. The dining directory for Napili Plaza lists Dang Dang Noodle along with a contact number, and OpenTable lists current hours as Wednesday through Sunday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The newcomer joins a cluster of neighborhood eateries that cater to both residents and visitors looking for a low-key bite.
Local roots and the team
Dang Dang builds on chef Joey Macadangdang’s established presence in the area. His flagship spot, Joey’s Kitchen, has been feeding Nāpili regulars and hotel guests for years. The restaurant group’s footprint at the plaza is also backed up in the property records. The leasing page from Alexander & Baldwin lists JVLMAC Group LLC (Dang Dang Noodle) as the tenant for a 4,599 square foot space at Nāpili Plaza.
Where to go
Dinner is the move here, with Dang Dang open Wednesday through Sunday in the late afternoon and evening. For the latest on menus, hours and photos, diners can follow the restaurant’s social feed or call the plaza’s main line for details. Napili Plaza lists the shopping center’s contact number, and OpenTable links to Dang Dang’s Instagram along with a reservation portal for those who prefer to lock in a table.
