A weekday afternoon turned chaotic near NW 122nd Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue on Wednesday, after a person was stabbed and the attacker slipped away before officers got there.
Oklahoma City police say the assault happened around 1:45 p.m. The victim was stabbed in an arm and a leg, then taken to a hospital for treatment. Officers arrived to find the suspect already gone, and as of the latest update no arrest had been announced.
Police searching for suspect
Officers gave an initial rundown of the incident to News 9, which reported that investigators were canvassing the area and looking for witnesses who might have seen the attack or the suspect fleeing. The outlet noted that authorities had not released an update on the victim’s condition at the time of its report.
Recent incidents in northwest OKC
The busy stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue has not exactly been quiet lately. KOCO 5 reported a separate, predawn stabbing near NW 31st Street and North Pennsylvania just last Wednesday. Neighborhood association crime logs also show multiple calls near NW 122nd and Penn earlier this year, according to the NACOK crime report, a sign that officers have been repeatedly dispatched to that corridor.
