The longtime sports bar on Governor’s Hill Drive permanently closed on May 26, according to a message the company shared with customers, leaving a familiar spot near the Fields Ertel area off I-71 suddenly vacant.

In a message to guests, Fricker’s told customers the Mason restaurant had “permanently closed May 26” and thanked them, saying, “The last 13 years your visits have been our greatest pleasure.” The post did not offer any reason for the shutdown, according to WKRC.

Fricker’s Mason operated at 8850 Governor’s Hill Dr., just off Mason-Montgomery Road at the I-71 exit 19, according to the restaurant’s online location listing. After the closure, the company pointed customers to nearby restaurants in North College Hill and Middletown, which are listed on Fricker's website.
