According to a news release from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call came in at approximately 2:44 a.m. on Sunday after a driver reported that someone had fired into his vehicle near the intersection of Southeast Foster Road and Southeast Richey Road. The caller told deputies he had been driving a silver 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 eastbound when he passed a blue Ford Expedition and someone in the SUV opened fire on his truck. When deputies arrived, they found bullet impacts on the pickup along with shell casings at the scene.
Older Ford SUV Sought After Fleeing East
Local coverage by KOIN carries the sheriff’s description of the suspect vehicle as an older dark-blue Ford Expedition with a distinct gold-colored bumper, no license plates and a temporary tag in the bottom-left corner of the rear window. Authorities say the SUV continued east on Southeast Foster Road toward Clackamas County, and anyone who spotted a vehicle matching that description between about 2:30 and 3 a.m. is asked to contact investigators.

The sheriff’s office reports that three people were inside the Dodge Ram at the time of the shooting: a 24-year-old man behind the wheel, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman. All three were uninjured, though the encounter clearly could have ended much worse.
