What happened
Just after 10 AM, officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 1600 block of Eighth Street, a short walk from Prescott Elementary. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. As of Thursday, there was no immediate indication that anyone had been arrested, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Victim and investigation
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, was hospitalized and described as stable. A police spokesperson said the Oakland Housing Authority would be taking over the investigation, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
