A domestic dispute in rural Jefferson County turned into an overnight manhunt after a woman was shot on Klondike Road on May 3, according to authorities. The woman was taken to a hospital, treated, and later released. Deputies say the suspect was tracked through the area over several hours before he was finally located and arrested.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies say 65-year-old Frank Forshee allegedly shot a woman during an argument at his home on the 6900 block of Klondike Road near Hillsboro. Sheriff Dave Marshak announced the arrest and charges in a Facebook statement, which notes that deputies and members of the SWAT team spent hours searching before detectives continued follow-up work at the scene.
Manhunt Ends After Phone Call From Detectives
Deputies and SWAT officers say they eventually located Forshee after detectives reached him by phone and convinced him to surrender. He turned himself in on May 4 and was taken into custody. The sheriff’s release notes that he later underwent a medical procedure that officials say was unrelated to the shooting. Detectives continue to process evidence and follow up with witness interviews as the case moves forward.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Forshee was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on May 7 and is being held without bond. He faces counts that include first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office lists Trisha Stefanski as the county prosecutor, and the sheriff's post publicly thanked her office for filing charges quickly so the suspect would remain behind bars.

Public county documents list a Forshee family property on Klondike Road near Hillsboro, and council records reviewed include an entry for 6990 Klondike Road in the county files. Those records match the general location cited in the sheriff’s release and outline the Klondike Road corridor where investigators say the incident unfolded.
