Oregon State Police are asking for the public’s help tracking down a pickup driver who may have crucial information about a reported sexual assault at a popular river spot near Troutdale on Sunday evening.
Investigators say the victim reported that she was assaulted at the Lewis & Clark Recreation Site, then accepted a ride from a man to a nearby restaurant. Detectives want to talk with that driver, who is considered a possible witness, to get his account of what happened.
OSP Seeks Witness
According to KPTV, Oregon State Police say the assault happened Sunday evening. The man reportedly drove the victim from the park to a nearby restaurant at about 6:30 p.m.
The victim described the possible witness as a white man driving a pickup truck and told investigators she was wearing a pink bathing suit top and shorts at the time. Authorities have not released any additional identifying details about the driver but are hoping he recognizes the situation and comes forward.
