A 47-year-old Newkirk woman, Eugenia Ladawn Sester, was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Waverly Street and West Earth Road in Kay County on Thursday night. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other driver was taken to a hospital with injuries. Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the collision happened around 8:38 p.m. and that they are still working to determine what led to the wreck.
Troopers say one vehicle rolled after impact
According to troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the two vehicles collided in the intersection, and the second vehicle rolled about a quarter turn before coming to rest on its driver’s side, as reported by News 9. Officials identified the woman who died as 47-year-old Eugenia Ladawn Sester of Newkirk and said the other driver, a 34-year-old man, sustained injuries. The patrol said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and investigators stayed on scene into the night.
