
A tense Saturday night in North Fair Oaks ended quietly yesterday morning after a man who allegedly fired shots in the neighborhood barricaded himself inside his home and was taken into custody following several hours of negotiations, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies reported there were no injuries to residents or officers.

In a post on X, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the North Fair Oaks area last Saturday night. The suspect then barricaded himself inside a residence, according to the post.

Negotiators engaged with the man for several hours before deputies took him into custody early Sunday. The sheriff's office said there were no reported injuries.
