Oakley Home Store Shutters As Brokers Race To Land Next Big-Box Star

At Home's Oakley outpost is packing up, with the Cincinnati store set to shut down in the coming weeks and leave behind a 131,000-square-foot former big-box. Local brokers say the massive space at Oakley Station is unlikely to sit idle for long, since a recent sale to a local ownership group has already put leasing agents to work lining up potential replacements. The move follows At Home's Chapter 11 restructuring and a round of national store cuts last year.

Lee & Associates brokers say they are in active negotiations with national tenants for the site after Deck Oakley LLC bought the building from Store Capital. The 131,000-square-foot property at 3055 Geier Road was acquired in January 2025 for $10.25 million, and the new owners are a joint venture led by Craig Dunaway and Kevin Osterfeld, as reported by the Cincinnati Business Courier.

Kacee Silva, At Home's director of social and public relations, told reporters the Oakley store will close at the end of July, according to FOX19. The closure is one of several the chain announced after filing for Chapter 11 in June 2025 and trimming its footprint during restructuring.

Leasing Team Expects Interest

The Lee & Associates team that brought the sale to market, senior vice presidents Chris Nachtrab and T.C. Bartoszek, say they are marketing the space and have been talking with potential national users. Brokers and the new owners see options that include a single large occupant or dividing the footprint for multiple tenants, per the Cincinnati Business Courier report.

For shoppers and nearby businesses, a quick re-tenanting would restore foot traffic to Oakley Station, while a long vacancy could put pressure on surrounding retailers. Leasing cycles for properties this size vary, and owners say they will announce specifics only after leases are signed and details are finalized.
