The Alan B. Miller Medical Center is officially open in Palm Beach Gardens, bringing a new full-service, seven-story hospital to north Palm Beach County this month. The facility includes emergency, surgical and heart services and began admitting patients in mid-May. Hospital leaders say the campus was designed around private rooms, future growth and outdoor green space where families and staff can get a breather from the clinical bustle.
Where It Is and When It Opened
The hospital sits in the Alton community just off I-95 at 13655 Pasteur Blvd., and the facility’s site lists the center as "Now Open." According to the Alan B. Miller Medical Center’s website, the campus is also set to include medical office buildings to bring more outpatient services into the neighborhood.
What The Hospital Will Offer
Universal Health Services says the new center includes about 156 private patient rooms across roughly 365,000 square feet on a 34-acre campus, and represents a nearly $430 million investment that created hundreds of construction jobs and will add roughly 800 permanent health-care positions as it ramps up. The center is being built with a helistop and space for future expansion, according to UHS.
Local Reactions
Hospital leaders and staff marked the opening with a ribbon cutting and local remarks focused on growth and access. CEO Gina Melby said Palm Beach Gardens' post-COVID growth made the site an ideal spot for a new full-service hospital, and clinicians emphasized that the facility was planned to expand as the region grows, as reported by WPTV.
Why This Matters For North County
Reporters and county observers note the Miller center gives residents another full-service hospital option nearby, an important shift for a part of Palm Beach County where some patients previously faced longer drives for certain types of acute care. Local coverage places the new facility alongside established hospitals in the area and says it is among the first full-service north-county hospitals built in decades.
