
Las Vegas police are searching for a gunman after an early Friday morning shooting on Wynn Road left one person fighting for life in a local hospital. Officers found the victim in the 3800 block of Wynn Road, began first aid at the scene and waited for medical crews, who took the victim to a nearby hospital. The person suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and remains in critical condition.
According to FOX5, officers responded at about 1:36 a.m. to the 3800 block of Wynn Road near Twain Avenue and Valley View Boulevard. The station reported that the suspect fled the area after the shooting and has not been found. Patrol members on scene provided first aid until medics took over.
KTNV reported that initial dispatches identified the victim as a 37-year-old man who was taken to University Medical Center and was undergoing surgery in critical condition. Details about a motive or a description of the suspect have not been released, KTNV added. Patrol detectives remained on scene to investigate and canvass the area for witnesses.

The shooting was reported in the 3800 block of Wynn Road, a corridor of apartments and small businesses west of the Strip. That stretch of Wynn Road has been the scene of police activity and earlier shootings in past years, including a 2020 case reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The recurrence of incidents in the area has kept it on Metro's investigative radar.
