Liberty Township is officially on Skyline's construction map. The company broke ground Tuesday on a new restaurant near Yankee Road that is expected to open in 2027, with plans for seating for about 100 diners and a drive-thru in the design.
Crews turned dirt on South Liberty Drive off Yankee Road, according to WKRC Local 12. "Liberty Township is a thriving community that loves Skyline," CEO Dick Williams said, and the company has said this spot will feature an updated, local look for the brand.
Site and property background
Public records showed Skyline was eyeing the former First Financial Bank parcel at 6945 South Liberty Drive, which transferred to NAP Lakota LLC in 2024, per reporting by WDTN via Yahoo. That January report described the plan as early-stage, and the company has since updated its timeline with a 2027 opening target.
Traffic and timing
The new restaurant will sit along Yankee Road, a stretch that has been in the middle of a multi-phase widening project that has brought closures, detours and a new roundabout, according to the Butler County Engineer’s Office reporting in WCPO. Those road changes could shape how diners and delivery drivers get in and out of the site during construction and in the early days after opening.
Where this fits for Skyline
The Liberty Township location is part of a regional growth push. Skyline opened a Springhurst, Louisville restaurant in February, according to WDRB, and the company recently pushed back the opening of a Fountain Square location to later this summer, per WXIX (FOX19). New stores have increasingly featured drive-thru service, and Liberty Township is slated to follow that pattern.
What to expect next
According to WKRC Local 12, the Liberty Township Skyline is planned with roughly 100 seats and a drive-thru, with an opening goal set for 2027. Local permitting and construction progress will ultimately determine the exact opening date and hiring timeline as the project moves ahead.
