
A woman is dead and a gunman is on the loose after an argument inside a South Minneapolis apartment turned violent Saturday evening, according to police.
Officers were called to an apartment on the 2400 block of Pillsbury Avenue South around 5:30 p.m., where they found a woman suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital and later died of her injuries. Police say the suspected shooter had already fled before officers arrived, and no arrests have been announced.

Investigators believe an argument inside the apartment escalated into gunfire, KSTP reports.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara called the killing “a senseless loss of life” and said investigators “will take all necessary steps to ensure the person responsible is held accountable,” according to the station.
