Trillium Brewing has picked a prime new spot to pour pints, opening Trillium Garden, a seasonal beer garden on the lower patio of the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf. The setup serves Trillium beers alongside wine, cocktails and light snacks, and puts drinkers right on the water with direct views of the harbor. The move keeps Trillium close to downtown, just a short walk from the brewery's longtime Greenway site.
Waterside pours on Rowes Wharf
According to the Boston Harbor Hotel, Trillium Garden occupies the hotel's lower patio and follows seasonal hours that expand as summer rolls along. The hotel's culinary page says it will be pouring "Trillium's finest draft beers, crisp cocktails, and a selection of wines" and will offer light snacks. The listing specifies the lower patio at Rowes Wharf as the venue and spells out weekday and weekend hours early in the season.
Greenway spot gets a distillery makeover
The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy announced that Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy has selected Boston Harbor Distillery to operate the beverage garden at the Greenway site formerly used by Trillium, following a competitive vendor process. The Conservancy thanked Trillium for helping establish the Greenway gardens and said the distillery's programming will emphasize family-friendly cocktails, beer and locally produced snacks.
Opening day and summer programming
A press release carried by Mass Brew Bros said Trillium Garden opened on May 19 and will be folded into the Boston Harbor Hotel's "Summer in the City" lineup. The release noted plans for expanded hours as the weather warms and said the hotel expects the garden to host events and sports viewings. Bill Brodsky, the hotel's managing director, called the partnership "exactly the kind of experience we envisioned for our waterfront," according to the release.
Trillium's growing Boston footprint
Trillium operates multiple Boston-area locations, including Fort Point, the Fenway and Canton, according to the brewery's website. Its beer garden on the Greenway had been a downtown staple since opening in 2017, helping popularize seasonal outdoor pours in the Wharf area. The new Rowes Wharf location offers fans a fresh harborfront perch for Trillium's often hard-to-find pints.
Trillium Garden is expected to operate seasonally, so check current hours and event listings before you head over. For more on this season's Greenway vendor, see the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy and the Boston Harbor Hotel.
