
East Brooks Road in Whitehaven turned into a taped-off crime scene early Tuesday after reports of an overnight shooting in an industrial stretch near Gemini Drive. Memphis police were called to the area around 2 a.m., where witnesses saw a crime-scene investigation van and officers working behind yellow tape. As of yet, police have not released any information on possible victims or arrests.
According to FOX13 Memphis, the scene unfolded near warehouses in the industrial zone off Gemini Drive. The station reported spotting a crime-scene van and tape encircling the area and said it had reached out to the Memphis Police Department for more details, including whether anyone was hurt.
Whitehaven's recent shootings
The overnight investigation comes on the heels of other violent calls in Whitehaven. A nearby June 28 shooting left a man dead and a woman critically injured, as reported by Action News 5. The incident highlights an ongoing pattern of late-night violence that has drawn increased police presence in the neighborhood.

The Memphis Police Department is asking anyone who might have seen or heard something around East Brooks Road to come forward.
