An Atlanta police officer's vehicle was involved in a crash Monday night along the 500 block of Hamilton E. Holmes Drive in northwest Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Police Department. No critical injuries were reported, and officials have so far shared only limited details about what led to the wreck.
According to Atlanta News First, the department's brief notice listed the location of the incident and said additional information had not yet been released. The statement did not identify the officer or explain what caused the collision.
Where it happened
The 500 block of Hamilton E. Holmes Drive sits in northwest Atlanta near the I-20 corridor, a stretch that has already seen serious crashes this spring. On April 4 a Jeep crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a MARTA bus near 266 Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, a collision the Atlanta Police Department described in a press release and that was later covered by CBS Atlanta.
Investigation underway
The department told Atlanta News First that further details were not yet available. Investigators are expected to review the crash scene and vehicle damage as the inquiry continues.
What to do if you saw something

Holmes Drive, are available on the Atlanta Police Department website.
