Kennesaw favorite Pisano's is bringing its New York-style pies straight to Marietta Square, with plans to open in early July in a roughly 1,500 square foot spot next to Willie Rae's Social House. The new location is set to be reworked into a single, connected space, with exposed brick, a mural, a small stage for live music and karaoke, and an outdoor patio. If the timeline holds, Marietta locals who currently make the drive to Kennesaw for a slice will soon have a far shorter trip.
As reported by What Now Atlanta, owner Michael Judvytis said his team is aiming to open "in early July" and that Pisano's will take over about 1,500 square feet right next door to Willie Rae's. The outlet notes that the Pisano's crew acquired the neighboring space within the past few years and intends to redesign the combined footprint so the two concepts play off each other instead of competing for attention.
Pisano's first opened in downtown Kennesaw in 2012, according to the restaurant's own site, which lists the Kennesaw address and founding year. Manager and co-owner Judvytis has steered the pizzeria through neighborhood events and local projects, the Cobb Courier reported. WR Social House, the business that grew out of Willie Rae's, has long served as one of the Square's anchors; its listing on TripAdvisor places the restaurant on the north side of the park.
What to expect inside the new space
What Now Atlanta notes that the Marietta location will likely mirror Pisano's Kennesaw menu, with whole pies and pizza by the slice, calzones, sandwiches, and pasta, while adding a few Marietta-specific dishes and potential brunch-pizza options to sync up with WR Social House's brunch service. Design-wise, the plan leans into a Brooklyn-style pizzeria feel, complete with exposed brick, a mural, and a compact stage for live acts and karaoke, plus outdoor seating that looks out onto the Square.
Where it fits on a busy Square
The Square has been hopping lately, with a steady churn of cafes, markets, and restaurant experiments that bring both opportunity and serious competition for newcomers. One local grocer filed Chapter 11 in mid May, underscoring that the stakes are high for concepts trying to stick the landing on the park. Local guides and business roundups highlight multiple openings and concept shifts around the Square, emphasizing how quickly the tenant mix can turn over in downtown Marietta, Marietta.com notes.
Judvytis has said the goal is to keep Pisano's rooted in its local identity while expanding into nearby communities, and the team plans to release soft-opening details as the build-out comes together. If that early July target holds, Marietta residents who usually head up to Kennesaw for Pisano's pies will soon be able to grab a slice without leaving the Square.
