Bensalem Township Police took to social media Wednesday with their latest weekly warrant roll, calling out 14 people the department says are currently wanted on accusations that range from retail theft to alleged fraud and assault. The online posting pairs names with photos and warrant numbers and urges residents to call 911 or submit anonymous tips, not to confront anyone on the list themselves.
According to Bensalem Police, the June 3 list identifies 14 people, including Richard Schmidt, shown with a fraud warrant dated June 2, and Torrell Bigelow, listed on an assault warrant issued May 11. Other names on the roll are tied to retail theft, drug and DUI allegations, and one entry is connected to a Protection From Abuse (PFA) warrant. The department notes that birthdates and warrant numbers are included to help with identification and that officers will confirm any warrant before making an arrest.
What’s on the list
The weekly warrant roll is part of a standing outreach effort the department shares on its CRIMEWATCH portal and social channels to drum up tips, per the department’s online summary. Local coverage, including an earlier weekly warrant breakdown, has described the lists as a public safety tool meant to generate leads while reminding residents to leave the actual police work to the professionals.
How to report tips
Anyone who believes they spot someone named on the list is urged to call 911 right away. For non-emergency information, residents can contact the Bensalem Police non-emergency line at (215) 633-3719 or submit an anonymous tip through the department's online portal, according to Bensalem Township.
Legal notes
The PFA referenced on the list involves a civil Protection From Abuse order under Pennsylvania law (23 Pa.C.S. Chapter 61). Alleged violations of such an order can result in arrest or contempt proceedings for not following its terms. Being named on a warrant list is not a conviction, and any charges will move through the normal court process where evidence and legal arguments are weighed.
