A deadly crash shut down a busy west Charlotte intersection Friday afternoon, snarling traffic and drawing a heavy emergency response as investigators worked to piece together what happened.
The collision happened at Freedom Drive and Ashley Road, where Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said at least one person was killed. First responders closed the intersection while they investigated.
