Three teenagers were wounded late Saturday night when gunfire erupted during a large gathering on Chicago's West Side in the North Lawndale neighborhood, according to police. Officers were already on the 1400 block of South Christiana Avenue when shots rang out around 11:30 p.m., sending a crowd scrambling for cover. The victims — two women and a man — were treated and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, with one listed in serious condition.
According to FOX 32 Chicago, a 19-year-old man approached officers and told them he had been shot in the groin and forearm. Officers applied a tourniquet before he was taken to Mt. Sinai in serious condition. A 19-year-old woman later walked into Mt. Sinai with a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was listed in good condition, while an 18-year-old woman was found on the scene with a buttocks wound and was also transported to the hospital in good condition. The station reports that the details came from the Chicago Police Department.
