An early-morning collision at East Tropicana Avenue and Tamarus Street in central Las Vegas left one person dead and another injured on Saturday, according to police, and turned a busy weekend intersection into a full-scale crash investigation.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the two-vehicle wreck happened around 7:03 a.m. Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital, where one was later pronounced dead and the other was listed in critical condition, as reported by KTNV. Traffic cameras showed Tropicana shut down near South Maryland Parkway while first responders worked the scene and crews cleared scattered debris.
Investigation And Road Closures
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the LVMPD Traffic Bureau is handling the investigation and warned that the intersection would stay closed until officers finished their on-scene work. Police have not released the names of the drivers or any information about what might have caused the crash.
What Investigators Are Asking
