Downtown Atlanta just leveled up its screen game. On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, a three-level "shared reality" venue at Centennial Yards officially opened, topped by an 87-foot, 12K-resolution LED dome that promises to drop fans virtually "on the pitch" just ahead of the FIFA World Cup. Developers and Cosm officials say the space mixes stadium-scale visuals with social seating, upgraded food and drink, and a slate of immersive film and live-event programming.
According to a press release from Centennial Yards Company, Cosm Atlanta fills roughly 70,000 square feet and is crowned by an 87-foot-diameter, 12K+ LED dome built to deliver panoramic sports and entertainment experiences. PR Newswire quoted Centennial Yards president Brian McGowan saying "Cosm's experience is unparalleled" as the team works to position the district as a new entertainment hub.
Cosm's Atlanta venue is set to debut to paying customers with a ticketed event built around Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals on June 10, with an initial summer lineup on sale that features UFC, College World Series dates, the MLB Home Run Derby and Cirque du Soleil presentations. Sports Business Journal reported the programming and noted that Atlanta will be Cosm's third U.S. location, following Los Angeles and Dallas. Local coverage of the opening was also carried by FOX 5 Atlanta.
Inside the dome
Cosm's "Shared Reality" setup blends multiple camera feeds with the wraparound LED surface to recreate angles like courtside, sideline or pitch-level, paired with couch-style social seating and in-seat food and beverage service. Urbanize Atlanta and other outlets have also highlighted Cosm's partnerships with ESPN, the NBA, NBC Sports, TNT and FOX Sports that will support live programming inside the dome.
What it means for downtown
The Cosm opening is one of the latest pieces of Centennial Yards, a roughly $5 billion, 50-acre redevelopment designed to stitch the Gulch back into downtown while adding new hotels, retail and entertainment venues. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has detailed the scale of the project, and first reported Cosm's lease at the site back in 2024.
Will it show World Cup matches?
With Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosting World Cup matches beginning June 15, the timing naturally raised the question of whether Cosm will air tournament broadcasts under the dome. A Cosm spokesperson told Sports Business Journal that the company had not announced World Cup plans and would share updates if programming is confirmed.
What to know if you go
The venue sits next to State Farm Arena and Mercedes-Benz Stadium and can be reached via the Five Points MARTA station. Tickets and the full event calendar are listed on Cosm's site at Cosm. The company and local outlets say the space will combine live-event broadcasts with immersive film nights and creator showcases aimed at both visitors and downtown residents.
