
Downtown Nantucket had an unsettling jolt on Tuesday morning when a person was injured in a stabbing on South Beach Street and a suspect was quickly taken into custody, according to police. Officers were called to the block between Broad Street and Oak Street around 10:23 a.m., where they found the injured person and had them transported to Nantucket Cottage Hospital for treatment. The normally busy village stretch was shut down to pedestrians while officers documented and processed the scene.
