A Monday afternoon ride on a northbound E train through Jackson Heights turned violent when a 31-year-old woman was stabbed, according to police. The attacker fled the train and the victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she is expected to recover.
According to ABC7, NYPD officers responded to the Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue station near Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street at about 2:20 p.m. Monday after reports of a person stabbed. When officers arrived, they found the 31-year-old with stab wounds to her hand and neck. The suspect had already taken off and no arrests had been made. Detectives are now working to track down the attacker.

Emergency responders brought the victim to Elmhurst Hospital and "she's expected to recover," according to ABC7. The NYPD said the investigation is ongoing and there were no arrests as of Monday evening.
