An early-morning double shooting in Southeast Washington’s Marshall Heights neighborhood left one man dead and another fighting for his life on Sunday, according to D.C. police. Officers rushed to the 5300 block of E Street SE shortly before 3:30 a.m., where they found two men with apparent gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
DC News Now reported that investigators were still combing through the scene Sunday morning and had not yet released the name of the man who was killed. Detectives with the Homicide Branch are leading the case.
Police seek tips
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Metropolitan Police Department tip line at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and detectives said they will be following up on every lead that comes in.
Marshall Heights recent violence
