A high-speed escape from a domestic incident ended in a deadly crash Tuesday afternoon, when a Toyota RAV4 crossed into oncoming traffic on Bristol Road in Bensalem, smashed into three other vehicles and went airborne before landing on its roof. The wreck unfolded near the intersection with Chestnut Avenue and shut down the roadway as emergency crews worked the scene. Investigators from both the township and the county later took over the probe.

Bensalem Township Police told investigators the driver had fled in the RAV4 after a domestic incident and was traveling at high speed when he tried to pass another vehicle, crossed into oncoming lanes and hit a Hyundai Kona, which was pushed into a fence. The RAV4 went airborne and then struck a Honda SUV and a Ford pickup before rolling over. The driver of the RAV4 was killed, NBC10 Philadelphia reported.
