Pigeon Forge police were assisting the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office when contact with a suspect led to gunfire. According to WATE 6 On Your Side, deputies went to the Days Inn on the Parkway to assist Sevier County Sheriff’s Office officers serving a felony warrant and made contact with a suspect. Shots were fired during that encounter, and the TBI confirmed it was investigating the scene at the request of Fourth Judicial District Attorney General James Dunn. The station reported it had a crew at the site and that investigators planned to release additional details once agents completed their preliminary work.
