Three people were shot Sunday night in Boston’s South End near a neighborhood playground, leaving all of them with serious injuries, according to Boston police. Officers found the victims close to O’Day Playground on West Newton Street and rushed them to nearby hospitals. No arrests had been reported as of Sunday night, and the investigation is still underway.
What Police Say
According to WHDH, which cited Boston police, officers were called to the area of O’Day Playground around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they discovered three people suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for serious injuries, the station reported.
Boston police told WHDH that no arrests had been made and did not release any additional details.
Where It Happened
O’Day Playground, at 75 West Newton Street, includes basketball courts, spray play and a children’s area, according to the city’s parks listings. The park has hosted community events and has seen capital investments from the Parks and Recreation Department in recent years.

This latest shooting adds to a troubling streak of violence in the South End.
