
Two people were found shot to death inside a unit at the Whispering Run Apartments in Hurst yesterday, turning a quiet complex near Bellaire Drive into an active crime scene, according to police.
Hurst police and firefighters were dispatched around 3:21 p.m. to the 600 block of Bellaire Drive after reports of gunfire. When officers went into the apartment, they discovered a man and a woman who had been shot. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not yet released their names or ages.
Police response at the scene
In a news release, the City of Hurst said officers were first sent to the area for reports of gunfire, then a second caller pinpointed the location as an apartment inside the Whispering Run complex. Detectives processed the scene while officers confirmed that a male and a female appeared to have died from gunshot wounds.

Victim identification and next steps
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that investigators have not released information about what led up to the shooting. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the two people who died once their families have been notified.
