Police are searching for three people after a 37-year-old man was beaten and stabbed on West 125th Street in Harlem on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The assault was reported around 6:50 p.m. in front of 511 West 125th Street. Witnesses told officers the man was punched and kicked before being stabbed in the right shoulder. Investigators have not released the victim’s condition, and no arrests had been reported as of Friday evening.
Police Release Crime Stoppers Alert
In a public bulletin, NYPD Crime Stoppers said, “The individuals punched and kicked the victim and stabbed him in the right shoulder with a sharp object,” according to Shore News Network. The alert notes that the three suspects took off heading east on West 125th Street and asks anyone who saw the attack or recorded video to get in touch with detectives.
125th Street Has Been a Flashpoint This Year
The stabbing is the latest incident on a busy stretch of 125th Street that has already seen several high-profile attacks. Reporting on a Jan. 26 stabbing detailed another wanted alert on the same corridor, and the site also covered a June 16 subway assault that investigators pushed out through Crime Stoppers. Those earlier cases highlight how detectives have leaned on public tips and surveillance footage to generate leads, local reporting shows.
How to Help
No arrests have been announced in Wednesday’s case, and investigators have not disclosed the victim’s current condition, as reported by Shore News Network. Anyone with information or video is asked to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782); those numbers are listed on the program’s official page at NYC.gov.
Detectives say they are reviewing available surveillance in the area and are urging neighbors, businesses and transit riders to check phones and door-cam footage for anything that might help the investigation. Police also remind potential tipsters that they can report anonymously and that some tips may be eligible for a reward if they lead to an arrest and indictment.
