A late Sunday night in Wahiawā turned deadly when a 30-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds on N. Cane Street and later died at a hospital. Honolulu police say officers and emergency crews rushed to the scene, and HPD’s Homicide Detail has taken over the case as detectives canvass the neighborhood and collect evidence. No arrests have been announced.
According to Hawaii News Now, first responders were called at about 9:15 p.m. to N. Cane Street, where District 2 officers found the victim. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services provided advanced life support and rushed him to a nearby emergency room in critical condition, but he was later pronounced dead.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that HPD’s Homicide Detail is leading the investigation and that no arrests have been made. Officials are asking anyone with information to call 911 or contact CrimeStoppers Honolulu at (808) 955-8300.
Wahiawā community on edge
This latest killing adds to a string of violent episodes in the small Central Oʻahu town. Earlier this year, a fatal Wendy’s stabbing outside the Wahiawā location in February also triggered a homicide investigation.
District-level figures in the Honolulu Police Department’s 2024 annual report show that District 2, which covers Mililani, Wahiawā and the North Shore, handles a notable share of Oʻahu’s violent-crime caseload.
How to help investigators
Police are urging anyone who was in the area Sunday night to preserve any video or photos they may have and to check whether their phones might have captured the incident.
