Today, Vine Hospitality told staff it is shutting down its Left Bank Brasserie, LB Steak and Meso Modern Mediterranean restaurants across the Bay Area, according to managers, closing several long-running neighborhood fixtures and displacing service staff. Managers say the decision was delivered in person that morning, while the company had not yet posted any public notice. The move is expected to hit Santana Row - where multiple Vine concepts operate - especially hard.
As reported by The Mercury News, two managers told the paper that Vine informed employees the restaurants were shutting down and that the company had sent an email reminding diners the restaurants would be open on Father's Day. The Mercury News also noted that Vine had yet to issue a formal public statement.
Vine's corporate site and its restaurant pages still showed active reservation links and Father's Day promotions as recently as last week, with dining pages for Left Bank, LB Steak and Meso listing menus and bookings. Vine Hospitality links to each brand and the individual restaurants' sites. That split-screen of live reservation pages alongside managers' accounts to staff suggests the closures landed as a surprise for employees.
Where The Closures Played Out
Left Bank began in the North Bay in the 1990s and still lists locations in Larkspur, Menlo Park and Santana Row on its site, reflecting a decades-long footprint in the region. Left Bank lists its Santana Row address and local menus, while LB Steak shows area locations including Santana Row and Bishop Ranch in San Ramon.
Meso Modern Mediterranean opened at Santana Row in 2019 and Petite Left Bank debuted in Tiburon in 2022, according to the concepts' sites. Both MESO and Petite Left Bank list menus, hours and reservations, underscoring how recently these brands were still positioning themselves as active players in the Bay Area dining scene.
What It Means For Santana Row
Santana Row's dining district will lose several anchor restaurants if the closures stand, stripping away longtime evening draws for shoppers and diners. The Santana Row directory still shows Left Bank and LB Steak among its dining options, and the loss of those concepts would leave a visible gap in the center's restaurant mix. Local managers told The Mercury News the move would hit Santana Row hard, a sentiment likely shared by regulars who counted on the spots for everything from date nights to big family dinners.
Vine Hospitality had not posted a public closure notice on its site as of today, and customers with upcoming reservations are urged to consult the restaurants' booking pages for the latest information. The company website remains the primary source for hours and events for each concept, and we will update this story if Vine posts an official statement.
