
A driver was killed Monday afternoon when a passenger car and a semi-truck collided on State Route 225 in Lexington Township, Stark County, according to local authorities. Deputies and emergency crews were called to the 13100 block of State Route 225 around midday and found the driver and a passenger in the car, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, while the truck driver was treated for minor injuries.

According to Cleveland 19, deputies responding to the 13100 block of State Route 225 found a badly damaged passenger vehicle and semi, and first responders moved quickly to stabilize the injured. The car's passenger was taken to Mercy Hospital for advanced care, while the semi driver was transported to Aultman Hospital in Alliance with what officials described as minor injuries. The Lexington Township Fire Department, the Alliance Fire Department and EMT Ambulance provided on-scene medical aid before ambulances took the victims from the scene. Once the medical response wrapped up, investigators took over the crash site.
