MoMA PS1’s long-running Warm Up series is back next month, turning the museum’s Long Island City courtyard into an open-air dance floor starting Friday, July 24. The 2026 season stretches across six Friday evenings in July and August and pairs established club heavyweights with emerging experimental artists. Expect Detroit machine funk, post-rave techno, gabber and sound-art sets, the kind of adventurous mix that has defined the series for decades.
What's playing and when
The full lineup, released this month, stacks opening night with Carlos Souffront on July 24 and closes out with De Schuurman on August 28, alongside names like keiyaA, Cortisa Star, Crystalmess and Purelink. As reported by The FADER, Warm Up 2026 features 26 artists and collectives across the six dates, blending local crews and international guests. The series has been a staple since 1998, and this year's roster leans into diasporic club histories as part of PS1’s 50th-anniversary programming.
Tickets, passes and resident freebies
General admission is $25 in advance and $35 on the day of the show, and a season pass that covers all six nights is priced at $95, with MoMA members paying $75, according to Eventbrite. The listing also notes that season passes are available while supplies last. Time Out reports that Long Island City residents in ZIP codes 11101, 11106 and 11109 can claim one complimentary ticket per event with proof of residency.
50th anniversary and what it means for LIC
This edition of Warm Up lands in the middle of MoMA PS1’s 50th-anniversary programming and a year in which the museum expanded free admission to all visitors, a move announced earlier in 2026. The institution says the free-entry initiative, made possible by a donor gift, is intended to broaden access to exhibitions and programs across the PS1 campus. Local coverage of PS1’s spring block party highlighted how the museum is leaning into community programming in Long Island City this year, especially around family and neighborhood-focused events.
How to go
MoMA PS1 is at 22-25 Jackson Ave in Long Island City, near Court Square. The museum recommends taking the 7, E or M to Court Square or the G to 21 St-Van Alst. All tickets and season passes may be reserved through the MoMA PS1 site, per Time Out. Expect lines on peak nights and limited resident tickets, so arriving early is your best bet if you are claiming a complimentary spot.
