A late-night walk just north of Morgan Junction turned into a gunpoint robbery Thursday, after two masked teens reportedly held up a pedestrian near California Avenue SW and SW Raymond, stole the victim’s phone and sped off in a gray Tesla with no license plates, according to police.

Officers talked with the victim at the scene while detectives began hunting for any surveillance video that might have caught the suspects or the distinctive getaway car on camera.

As reported by West Seattle Blog, the initial dispatch described the suspects as two Black male juveniles wearing masks and hoodies who took off heading north from the Junction. Police were reported to be interviewing the victim and documenting early leads from the call.

Robbery Mirrors Spring’s Armed Crime Wave

The incident lands amid a run of armed robberies and shots-fired calls in and around West Seattle this spring. Seattle police investigated a cluster of overnight armed robberies in April, according to KIRO. More recently, crime reports have logged multiple armed robberies and related cases across West Seattle and Burien, as covered by Westside Seattle.

Police Ask For Tips And Home Video

Seattle Police are asking anyone with information or footage from the area to speak up. That includes dash-cam or door-bell recordings that might show the gray Tesla or the suspects around the time of the robbery.

Tipsters can call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. As outlined by the SPD Blotter, detectives frequently lean on community video to move cases forward, and residents are urged to review recordings from the timeframe of the incident. If a crime is in progress, call 911 immediately.

The initial report on the hold-up was published by West Seattle Blog. Anyone who saw a gray Tesla with no plates in the Morgan Junction area late Thursday is asked to contact authorities.
