A vacant parking lot on San Antonio’s North Side turned into a crime scene early Saturday after an unidentified man was found shot to death, police said.
Officers were called just after 12:30 a.m. to the 2100 block of Vance Jackson Road for a report of an unresponsive person. When they arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KSAT.
Officers initially found no shooters or witnesses in the area, and the San Antonio Police Department said the investigation is ongoing as detectives work the scene. KSAT reported that additional details were not immediately available while the lot was being processed for evidence.
Violence Along the Vance Jackson Corridor
The killing adds to a run of violent incidents along Vance Jackson Road that has residents on edge. In December 2025, a man was fatally shot at a gas station in the 4100 block of Vance Jackson, an incident covered by the San Antonio Express-News. Local outlets have repeatedly pointed to the corridor as a trouble spot for public safety. One recent example is the 7-Eleven gas station shooting that underscored those concerns.
What Police Have Released
Police have not released the victim’s name or a possible motive, and no suspects were found at the scene, according to KSAT. The San Antonio Police Department has classified the case as an active homicide investigation and said additional information was not immediately available.
Authorities have not announced any arrests and have not identified a suspect. The investigation remains active.
