North Las Vegas police are investigating a grim scene on East Lake Mead Boulevard after a man and a woman were found shot to death inside a white Toyota Highlander on Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near North McDaniel Street and North Bruce Street, where they found the SUV with both adults unresponsive inside. Each had apparent gunshot wounds, and medical personnel pronounced them dead at the scene. Detectives with the North Las Vegas Police Department say the case is being treated as an apparent murder-suicide.
Police Probe Apparent Murder-Suicide
According to 8 News Now, North Las Vegas officers responded Saturday and located the Highlander with the two victims inside. Detectives said both were adults, both had gunshot wounds and both were later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are processing the vehicle and the surrounding area as they work to piece together what happened. Police have not released the victims’ names, 8 News Now reported.
Another Violent Incident Along Lake Mead
The 1800 block of East Lake Mead sits in an east-valley stretch that local outlets say has seen other recent shootings and volatile domestic-disturbance calls, keeping officers on their toes. A separate domestic-related shooting on Lake Mead earlier this month drew a heavy police response, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal has documented prior murder-suicides in North Las Vegas in earlier years.
