A woman was hospitalized after a stabbing at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex on Thursday, and police say a man was taken into custody at the scene. Medical staff took the woman to a nearby hospital, but authorities have not released how seriously she was hurt. Officers remained at the complex while detectives started an on-scene investigation.
According to KOCO, the stabbing happened near NW 122nd Street and Western Avenue at an apartment complex. The station reports that an apartment manager told reporters the victim lives at the complex and that police had a suspect in custody. KOCO also reports investigators have not released details about what led up to the stabbing or the suspect's identity.
Neighborhood Has Seen Other Overnight Violence
Northwest Oklahoma City has seen several overnight assaults this year. In a separate incident in the same general area, two people were injured in a Feb. 27 stabbing, as reported by KFOR. Detectives in the latest case are canvassing the neighborhood and checking for any available surveillance footage as they work to piece together a timeline for Thursday's attack.
Investigation Still Taking Shape
Authorities have not announced any charges, and KOCO reports investigators have not released a suspect name, possible motive, or an update on the victim's condition. Detectives continue to process the scene and interview potential witnesses. Officials said they will release more information as it becomes available.
