An Oakland man is facing a slate of felony charges after federal and local authorities arrested him at a U.S. probation office in San Francisco in connection with an alleged human trafficking case involving a minor, officials said.
Deyonne Anthony White, 30, of Oakland, was taken into custody on May 19 and booked into the Contra Costa County jail, where he is being held on $425,000 bail. White faces felony counts that include human trafficking of a minor for commercial sex, pimping and pandering, and witness intimidation. According to authorities, the arrest stems from a multi-agency investigation involving both federal and local partners.
Arrest details and charges
According to SFGATE, Hercules officers, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service, located White during his probation appointment at the San Francisco office and transported him to the Martinez detention facility. He was booked on May 19 and remains held on $425,000 bail while investigators coordinate with federal agencies. Authorities listed the charges as human trafficking of a minor for commercial sex, pimping and pandering, and witness intimidation.
Probe tied to Operation Cross Country
Hercules police said the investigation traces back to Operation Cross Country, a recurring FBI-led campaign that focuses on identifying and recovering minors who are being sexually exploited and arresting those suspected of running commercial sex operations. The FBI reports that recent iterations of the operation have located dozens of juvenile victims and led to coordinated arrests across multiple jurisdictions.
Court date and prior arrests
Per the Contra Costa Herald, White is scheduled to appear next in Contra Costa County Superior Court on July 17 in Martinez. That report also notes that local outlets had previously highlighted earlier contacts involving Alameda County and Oakland police, which were summarized in the Hercules police release. Officials emphasize that the charges remain allegations and that White is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
