
Gunfire cut through the early morning quiet near Eden Park on Saturday, as Cincinnati police investigated a late-night shooting at the edge of the Walnut Hills neighborhood.
Officers were called to the area around 1:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting and found a gunshot victim near the park entrance at East McMillan Street and Victory Parkway, according to WKRC Local 12. The station reported that police had not released the victim's condition or any details about a possible suspect as the investigation got underway.
Where it happened
The intersection of East McMillan Street and Victory Parkway sits at the southern edge of Eden Park in Walnut Hills, a short drive east of downtown Cincinnati. That corner has seen violence before, including a 2021 shooting at the McDonald's there that later turned fatal, as WCPO reported.
Investigation ongoing
Detectives were working to determine what led up to the latest shooting, and no arrests had been announced, according to WKRC Local 12. Police had not shared additional details early Saturday, and further updates are expected as the department continues its inquiry.
