An early-morning shooting near 19th Avenue and Peoria Avenue in north Phoenix left two people wounded on Saturday, and police say a man is now in custody in connection with the gunfire.
Officers were called out around 3:25 a.m. on an "unknown trouble" report in the busy north Phoenix corridor. Before they got there, a friend had already rushed both victims to a nearby hospital, according to police.
Investigators say a woman suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, while a man was also shot and is being treated for a serious but non-life-threatening injury.
