
A quiet stretch of Northeast Glisan Street turned deadly early Friday when a motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash in unincorporated Multnomah County, according to deputies.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 23300 block of Northeast Glisan at about 2:41 a.m. Responders found the rider unconscious with traumatic injuries, and paramedics transported the person to a hospital, where the motorcyclist later died.
According to KATU, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said the rider was found on the ground at the scene. Investigators believe the motorcycle crashed into the back of a vehicle. The driver of that vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with deputies.
East County Vehicular Crimes Team leading probe
The East County Vehicular Crimes Team is now leading the investigation. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office states that the team is made up of specially trained members from the sheriff's office, the Gresham Police Department and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, and it focuses on serious and fatal vehicle crashes in east Multnomah County.
Road closure and local impact
Northeast Glisan Street was shut down in both directions between Northeast 238th Avenue and Wood Village Boulevard while investigators processed the scene. As reported by KATU, crews stayed on scene into the morning as evidence was collected, and the roadway was reopened on a rolling basis.
Authorities have not yet released the rider’s identity, and the investigation remains active.
