
A man is fighting for his life after a pre-dawn shooting at a west Phoenix apartment complex early Wednesday, where officers found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Phoenix police were called out around 4 a.m. to the complex near 27th Avenue and Glenrosa Avenue, just north of Indian School Road, according to Arizona's Family. Officers arrived to find the man shot several times. Firefighters rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Detectives have taped off the complex as they work to piece together what led to the gunfire, and police say they do not yet have information to release about a suspect.
27th Avenue corridor has seen recent violence
This latest shooting adds to a troubling run of violence along the 27th Avenue corridor. Neighborhood groups and law enforcement have stepped up activity in the area in response to several violent incidents in recent weeks.
Police ask for tips and video
Police are urging anyone with information about Wednesday's shooting to contact Phoenix Police or Silent Witness. According to the Phoenix Police Department contact page, Silent Witness can be reached at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446), and callers can remain anonymous. Detectives are also asking anyone who has video from the area around the time of the shooting to share it with investigators.
