Nacho Daddy, the Las Vegas-born chain famous for towering, shareable nachos and its notorious scorpion shot, is going big at Area15. The homegrown brand is rolling out a roughly 5,000-square-foot outpost in Zone 2 that will seat about 206 diners under 21-foot open-duct ceilings, with metal screens separating the dining room from the bar for the first time in the chain’s history. The restaurant is expected to open the first week of July.
Advance photos show the new spot leaning into Area15’s anything-goes vibe, with printed murals of scorpions, sugar skulls, green-headed aliens and vintage sci-fi posters. An eight-foot wrought-iron scorpion will hang over the bar, just in case anyone forgets about those infamous shots. The menu keeps Nacho Daddy’s “never-a-dry-chip” promise with piled-high nachos in combinations like chicken tinga, filet birria, brisket burnt ends and vegan options, plus tableside flaming fajitas, a dedicated lunch menu and an all-day 5 dollar house margarita at the bar, as reported by Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Design And The Scorpion
Co-owner Fred Mossler said the giant scorpion was a fresh swing for the brand, telling the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “It’s the first time we’ve had a scorpion. It was a new idea. At Area15, you go big. Now, the other locations want one.” The Area15 build-out covers about 5,000 square feet, with roughly 21-foot open-duct ceilings and seating for around 206 people, and introduces the new metal screens that divide the bar from the dining room.
Menu And Drinks
Nacho Daddy’s website highlights Flaming Fajitas, loaded nachos and a dedicated vegan section, and lists locations across Las Vegas, Henderson, Salt Lake City and Nashville. The chain says the Area15 location’s cocktail lineup, including eight specialty margaritas, came from bartender submissions across the group, per Nacho Daddy.
Area15’s Bigger Plan
The opening lands as Area15 keeps filling out its Zone 2 roster to deepen the district’s food-and-entertainment mix. Recent tenant lists put Nacho Daddy alongside Museum of Ice Cream, Chilango’s Tacos, Saint Honoré Doughnuts & Beignets and The Escape Game. As reported by Las Vegas Magazine, the broader expansion is designed to turn Area15 into a more complete “retailtainment” hub.
